Accuracy by design
How Labour Finland verifies wage information
The objective is not simply to display a salary number. It is to explain its meaning, source, scope and validity.
SOURCE → DATE → NUMBER → EXPLANATION
Find an authoritative source.
Determine what the figure represents.
Confirm scope and applicability.
Record validity dates.
Display source with wage.
Track review needs.
How the wage lookup works
- Labour Finland identifies the occupation from the search term, including known aliases.
- Some occupations require additional job details. Extra questions appear only when they are needed to find the applicable verified record.
- The system then looks for a matching verified wage record.
- Only records whose validity period includes the current date are treated as current. Future tables are not shown early, and expired tables are not shown as current.
- The result states what type of wage figure it is, such as a collective-agreement wage, an average salary or a median salary.
- The original source and last verification date are shown where available.
Finland does not have one universal statutory euro minimum wage applying identically to every worker. Employment minimum terms can depend on an applicable collective agreement and the circumstances of the work. Labour Finland does not provide individualized legal advice.
What readers should understand
- What the number means, including whether it is a collective agreement minimum, average, median, observed earning or estimate.
- Who and which circumstances it applies to.
- Where it came from.
- When it applies and when it was last checked.
Source policy
Labour Finland prioritizes authoritative primary sources where appropriate. These may include applicable collective agreements, Finnish authorities, Statistics Finland, employer organizations, employee organizations or trade unions, and official legislation databases.
No source link is added until a real source has been reviewed. Labour Finland is not itself the authority and does not imply endorsement by a source organization.
Publication controls
Records can be marked VERIFIED, REVIEW_REQUIRED, EXPIRED or UNVERIFIED. Only VERIFIED records are normally eligible for public display. Passing a recorded end date triggers a review warning even if the stored status has not yet been updated.
Copyright and attribution
Labour Finland writes original explanations, attributes sources and links to the primary document. Selected factual wage-scale amounts may be shown in Labour Finland's own layout. That is not the same as hosting a complete collective agreement, a source PDF, or a copied article. A source citation does not by itself grant permission to reproduce a protected work. Source organisations' copyright and database rights remain a matter for legal review.
